Anticipatory Guidance in Infant Oral Health – Chiranjeevi Health Care
What is anticipatory guidance in Pediatric dentistry?
Anticipatory guidance is the process of providing practical and developmentally-appropriate information about children’s dental health to prepare parents for significant physical, emotional, and psychological milestones.
If appropriate measures are applied early enough, it may be possible to totally prevent oral disease. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that infants be scheduled for an initial oral evaluation within six months of the eruption of the first primary tooth but by no later than 12 months of age.
During the dental visit the Pediatric dentist will counsel you about the age appropriate practices that can prevent dental disease . For eg; breast or bottle feeding practices in infants, prevention of traumatic injuries in toddlers, prevention and interception of malaligned teeth, habits etc
THIS BLOG AIMS TO CREATE AWARENESS AMONG EXPECTANT PARENTS AND PARENTS OF YOUNG ONES THAT DENTAL DISEASE IS PREVENTABLE .
Kindly visit your nearest Pediatric dentist for more information.
